Oogie Boogie Bash 2026: Madame Leota's Swinging Wake, Villains Grove and Zombie Captain America

No parade this year, and why

The first thing to know about Oogie Boogie Bash 2026 is what's missing. The Frightfully Fun Parade is gone for this season, because construction backstage on the new Coco attraction cuts off the parade route.

For a lot of people the parade was the centerpiece of the night, so we went in curious and a little skeptical about how Disney would fill that gap.

Madame Leota's Swinging Wake

In the parade's place is Madame Leota's Swinging Wake, a Haunted Mansion street party. Madame Leota holds court, and Ichabod Crane spends his time trying to stay one step ahead of the Headless Horseman.

We filmed the whole thing so you can see what it actually feels like in person. It is a different kind of experience than a parade, and it's worth watching before you decide whether the party is still for you.

Villains Grove is the one not to skip

Redwood Creek Challenge Trail turns into Villains Grove for the party, and the woods become a run of lighting, projections and sound built around the villains.

This is the thing we tell everyone not to miss. It also photographs nothing like it looks in person, so don't judge it by the pictures you've seen. Go walk it.

Villains, rare characters and Zombie Captain America

Along the way we caught villains and rare characters all across Disney California Adventure.

The one to plan around is Zombie Captain America over at Avengers Campus. He only turns up for this event, so if you want that photo, build it into your night instead of hoping to stumble across him.

Trick-or-treating

Of course we hit the treat trails. We show how the lines actually move, which helps a lot when you're deciding where to spend your time.

Is it still worth it without the parade?

If you already have tickets this season, or you're on the fence about the 2026 version, our video is a full, honest night at the party. Between the new street party, Villains Grove and the event-only characters, there's still plenty to fill the evening.
